Frozen Horse

...for the people who are still alive.

picture of Frozen Horse It all comes down to Logos versus Gnosis, the oldest fight in town. Force versus light like unruly brothers, the battles were waves. Does one surrender to a pounding beat or dive deep into layered esoteric bleep-boop-loops? Ultimately, a synthesis, a balance must be struck. In the meantime, what side is he on?
Fleeing all W'rkncacnter, Frozen Horse emigrated to these shores after a childhood spent in Mu-Mu Land. Subsequently, he studied ethnomusicopharmacology at Miskatonic University. During his studies, he discovered the joys of tape-loop sampling and casette dub mixing. Soon, he heard the wonders possible with trackers and other software of the day and joined the digital era. Fieldwork left him with a bushel of samples and a burning desire to mix them.
Subsequently, mixes, remixes, and misuses of scientific data files were made. Frozen Horse then learned to DJ, on increasingly less preposterous gear, appearing at college parties and art gallery openings while holding a residency at his own bedroom. After such pupation he emerged; was the world ready?

Selected Works

The following songs and mixes are encoded using MP3 for your convenience, or Ogg Vorbis because it's better.

Early works have been moved over here.

Songs
Beats and Beatniks is a downtempo song with some beat pontifications.
Me and a Gun is a rather dark drum & bass remix of the song by Tori Amos.
Krystal Dreams (choose love mix) is a remix of Sundawner's track, now with some vocals.
My Philosophy is sweet, pretty music.
When Time Met Space to get on with the original get-on.
For Simone, thanks for inspiring my curiosity. This contains binaural beat frequencies and should be listened to via headphones.
Pure Minimal Techno, an album of nuts and bolts ready to be assembled. You will find clicks, twangs, booms, and noise. Ostentatious overproduction is not included and must be obtained separately.

Recessional is a hard look into the setting sun, and the knowledge that this is one ghost town that it's best to be out of before dark. We have gone too far. (This file is large (~52 MB).)
The Rev. Dr. Frozen Horse is here to give a sunday service for all you sinners who are still here from the night before. (This file is large (~60 MB).)
The Riddle ofTrance is primal, atavistic, and what it's all about. A long-delayed return to trance, still shaking the kinks out. (This file is large (~58 MB).)
